Forbes Books Adds Chief Marketing Officer As Company’s Growth Continues

Forbes Books announced today that Beth LaGuardia Cooper has joined the company’s executive team as the organization’s first Chief Marketing Officer.

In the newly created position, LaGuardia Cooper will oversee brand, PR, and marketing strategy and operations for Forbes Books. She also will lead the delivery of Authority Media Services for clients in the areas of online media and engagement and public relations.

In addition, she will be responsible for assessing and leading the implementation of next-level marketing strategies associated with new business opportunities.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to help strengthen the awareness and preference for the Forbes Books brand, and develop marketing strategies consistent with the company’s commitment to integrity, transparency and unparalleled leadership in the publishing and authority media space,” LaGuardia Cooper says.

LaGuardia Cooper previously worked in marketing at American Public Education Inc., which provides educational programs and services through its subsidiaries, such as Rasmussen University and Graduate School USA. At APEI, she rose in leadership positions, eventually becoming CMO for the company and its four subsidiaries. During her 18-year tenure, LaGuardia Cooper helped grow APEI from $20 million to $650 million in annual revenue, and built a four-person marketing department into a team of 50 professionals.

“Beth is going to bring incredible energy, ideas and action to Forbes Books,” says Adam Witty, the company’s founder and CEO. “What I love about Beth is her insight, her appreciation of data and analytics, and of course the fact she has been on a scaling-up journey similar to what we have been doing at Forbes Books.”

Prior to APEI, LaGuardia Cooper held a variety of product management and marketing communications positions for organizations in the B2B and B2C technology services and B2B marketing agency spaces.

She earned an A.B. in Economics from Duke University and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Maryland. She lives in Charleston, SC, with her husband and their 12-year-old daughter.
